In the context of the novel "Red Dragon" by Thomas Harris, Hannibal Lecter uses the terms "deep rollers" and "flat rollers" to refer to different types of waves in the ocean. Deep rollers are waves that form far out at sea and travel long distances before breaking, while flat rollers are waves that break close to shore and have less power. Lecter uses this analogy to describe the difference between his own sophisticated, long-term plans (deep rollers) and the impulsive, short-sighted actions of the killer he is analyzing (flat rollers). **

In the novel "Red Dragon" by Thomas Harris, Hannibal Lecter uses the terms "deep rollers" and "shallow rollers" to describe people's emotional responses to traumatic events. He explains that "deep rollers" are individuals who are deeply affected by their experiences and are haunted by them for a long time, while "shallow rollers" are able to move on more easily and are less affected by their past. Lecter uses these terms to categorize and understand the psychological makeup of the people around him, as well as to manipulate and exploit their vulnerabilities. **

It is likely that Hannibal Lecter would receive the death penalty for his heinous crimes, including multiple counts of murder and cannibalism. His extreme level of violence and lack of remorse would likely be considered aggravating factors in his sentencing. Additionally, his high level of intelligence and ability to manipulate others would make him a significant threat to society, further justifying the imposition of the death penalty. **
